vélo’v became a benchmark for the success of Cyclocity with the launch of the service in Lyon, France in 2005.

Vélo'v and Vélib', an indication of change

With the arrival of the system in Lyon in June 2005, the Cyclocity service expanded its scope to new levels. Vélo’v opened with 175 stations. In 2008, the service had as many as 343 stations which extended as far as Villeurbanne.
The self-service bicycle went on to become a real phenomenon in society with the opening of the Vélib’ service in Paris in July 2007. This project relies on hundreds of workers every day to guarantee up to 120,000 rentals daily.
